Meet the Executive Team

Sophia Yi
Co-Director of Outreach

Sophia is a sophomore at The Chapin School in NYC and the co-director of outreach for The Aceso Project. As someone who has always loved to cook and bake, Sophia has developed a strong passion for nutrition and food science. Through her involvement in local nonprofits, she had the opportunity to cook and serve meals at soup kitchens, run bake sales, and share her recipes through social media. As she used her love for food to support her local community, Sophia became interested in better understanding access to nutritious foods and population health. As she continues to work with The Aceso Project, Sophia looks forward to sharing her passions and helping bring accessible public health education to all.

Chinhitha Pamulapati
Co-Director of Outreach

Chinhitha is a junior at Dulles High School in Sugarland, Texas, and the co-director of outreach for The Aceso Project. Chinhitha first became interested in public health after volunteering at a local community clinic, where she saw how access, educational resources, and preventative care could improve everyday lives. It made her sad to see how many people lack access to these things, and has since then been inspired to help make resources, support, and opportunities more accessible. Chinhitha is highly involved in her school HOSA chapter, where she helps coordinate community food drives and helps spread health awareness. What excites her the most about The Aceso Project, in particular, is our dedication to expanding health literacy and creating solutions for communities. She is incredibly eager to contribute to making a meaningful impact alongside the rest of the team!

Valentine Nguyen
Co-Creative Director

Valentine is a senior at Enochs High School in Modesto, California, and the co-creative director for The Aceso Project. Growing up in a notoriously medically underserved part of California’s Central Valley, Valentine has witness firsthand the impact of social determinants of health and the importance of public health awareness. As such, Valentine strongly values community involvement as a research intern studying ADHD diagnosis disparities, volunteering at a hospice, and more! An educator at heart, Valentine is drawn to The Aceso Project because she is able to explore the intersection between art, writing, and science to make a tangible impact on communities.

Hana Sholkamy
Co-Creative Director

Hana is a G12 student at El-Nawady Official language School in Minya, Egypt, and the co-creative director for The Aceso Project. Hana developed an interest in public health as she combined her interest in mental health, psychology, education, and the ways our environment and access to resources can shape people’s well-being and opportunities. More specifically, her involvement in several youth-led initiatives such as Soliries and Shbab Btsad Shbab, volunteering, marketing, community work, and projects focused on starting youth-led conversations on health, Hana has been able to expand and develop this interest. Hana is especially interested in The Aceso Project because it brings together different areas that she cares about, such as health awareness, education, and community impact. What she loves most is the opportunity to work with a team that is passionate about continuously improving and expanding, creating meaningful change in people’s lives.

Malak Ahmed Salah Elgendy
Head of Finances

Malak is a G12 student at the New Vision School in Cairo, Egypt, and the Head of Finances for The Aceso Project. As someone passionate about neuroscience and leveraging innovation to address global health challenges, Malak’s interest in public health was sparked through her previous work in mental health advocacy, where she witnessed the profound impact that education, advocacy, and equitable access to healthcare could have on individuals and communities. Malak is actively involved in Kode with Klossy and Code in Place at Stanford, where she actively seeks opportunities to expand her skillset with the hopes of using her abilities to expand her impact on her local community. As a member of the Aceso executive team, Malak is most excited for the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse team of passionate individuals who are committed to advancing healthcare solutions.
